Frequently Asked Question

Setup Account or Recover Password
Last Updated 20 days ago

WNCC utilizes Microsoft's Entra ID for user account management.  WNCC does require all accounts to use multi-factor authentication to protect your account.  Once you setup the Authenticator app, you can then go passwordless.

First Time Setup

Complete steps 1 and 2:

Step 1. Create/recover Password

  • Go to https://go.wncc.edu/reset on your computer or mobile device.
  • Enter your WNCC username as listed above, and the characters in the picture.
  • Select text or email to have a verification code sent to you.
  • Enter the code you received.
  • Reset your password based on the following rules:
    • Cannot your name in the password
    • Must be 12 characters or more in length
    • Contain characters from three of the following four categories: uppercase, lowercase, number, or special character.

Step 2. Setup Multi-Factor Authentication

You must add a second method for authentication.  You can use the Microsoft Authenticator app - with or without a passkey, Android or Apple passkey, or a YubiKey. Email and SMS text message are not valid forms of authentication for daily use.  WNCC recommends you use the Microsoft Authenticator app that you can download here or scan the QR Code.

To begin setup, please follow Microsoft's guide for setting up the Authenticator App. Make sure to select the guide for Work or School accounts.

Edit MFA and Recovery Options

You can change your recovery information at any time by going to https://go.wncc.edu/myaccount and selecting the Security Info tile.  You can also set your primary method for MFA.
