Outlook: How to create a new profile

This article will guide you through some of the technical steps the IT department takes if persisted problems keep occurring in Outlook.
Step 1.) To see if the profile is becoming bad try to run outlook in safemode, in the search box in the bottom left-hand corner type in "Outlook.exe /safe" (without the quotes) & press "Enter" on your keyboard

Step 2.) It will ask what profile to run with for the first time doing this and simply select "Okay" to continue to allow Outlook to run in safemode.

Step 3.) Attempt to do what outlook was doing that inhibited your work.
Step 4.) If it seemed like the issue is either still persisting or is resolved this is commonly the 'normal mode' of outlook's profile becoming corrupt aka bad. To resolve this, in the search file type in "Control Panel" & press 'Enter' on your keyboard.

Step 5.) In the control panel area, left-click "User Accounts"

Step 6.) Left-click "Mail (Microsoft Outlook)"

Step 7.) The mail setup - oultook will appear and select "Show Profiles..."

Step 8.) The Mail popup will appear and select "Add..." to add another profile for outlook, and then create a new profile name then select "OK".

Step 9.) A new popup will occur and make sure "Email Account" checkbox is select with your name and email address appropriately to your account & select "Next >".

Step 10.) Make sure your information is accepted and then select "Finish" (If this step fails please contact the IT department)

Step 11.) After your new profile is created select the dropdown arrow by "Always use this profile", and then select your recently created profile and select "OK"

Step 12.) Your profile will be new at this point and it will take Outlook some time to re-import your emails etc. after everything is reimported please try the process that was inhibitting your work, if it is not resolved please consult the IT department and put in a ticket request for it.
