Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars


Firefox's toolbar provides easy access to common features. Do you miss something you use a lot? The toolbar is easy to customize. Is there something you don't use all the time? Try adding it to the overflow menu. We'll show you how.

Customize the overflow menu or the toolbar

You can change the items that appear in the overflow menu or your toolbar.

  1. Click the menu button Fx57Menu and choose 57customize-icon.png Customize….
    • A special tab will open which allows you to drag and drop items in or out of the overflow menu and the toolbar. Feel free to experiment with what works best for you. You can always start over by clicking the Restore Defaults button at the bottom of the screen.

  2. When you are done, click the Done button.

Turn on the Title bar, Menu bar or Bookmarks toolbar

  1. Click the menu button Fx57Menu and choose 57customize-icon.png Customize….
    • To turn on the Title bar: Put a check mark next to Title Bar in the lower left.
    • To turn on the Menu bar or Bookmarks toolbar: Click the Toolbars dropdown menu at the bottom of the screen and choose the toolbars you want to display.

  2. Click the Done button.

Utilize Side Bars


1. Click the Sidebars button image and this will show all available sidebars.2.) The sidebars will typically be on the left hand side of the screen.

3.) Selecting the drop down arrow by the Big bold star Bookmars, will show different options that you can use.

4. Each one will show a different settings based on what you select, and you can also move the sidebar to the right/left side of the screen
5. You will notice that the Sidebars button icon in the upper left hand side is bold imageand this means that the sidebar is active. To deactivate, simply click the button again.

Firefox Library

1. Click the three dashes (setting) button image, select Libraryimage
2. Bookmarks, View Pocket List, History, Downloads, Synced Tabs, and Screenshots are the main information of what you have done on firefox will be located.

3. Simply click the one you desire to see what information you have used in Firefox, and how much data is presently available.
